AULC Conference 2013

The 2013 conference will be held at the University of Durham on Thursday and Friday January 10th and 11th. Details will be added to this site as they become available.

AULC Conference 2012

The 2012 conference was hosted at the University of Reading on Thursday and Friday 5th and 6th January. It was a great success, with more participants (over 80) than we have seen for a while. See details of the programme and presentations.

'Shaping the Future of Languages in HE'

AULC is a partner in the national 'Shaping the Future of languages project, launched in June 2011. The project website provides resources to assist language centres and academic departments to promote the work they do, under three headings: shared identity, internationalisation and employability.

'Speak to the Future' campaign

AULC is a participant in the national 'Speak to the Future campaign', launched on February 15th 2011. In particular, we support Objective 4: "Every graduate qualified in a second language
This will prepare future leaders in business, the professions, voluntary organisations, education and research to thrive and communicate confidently in complex global societies "

As part of this campaign several AULC members celebrated the Festival of Languages on or around March 8th (Mardi Gras) in 2011. Read reports of these events. More events are planned for February 21st 2012.
